What will happen at the health check?
Most health checks are carried out by a nurse, however it may be a different healthcare practitioner, for example you may see a GP during the process. Either way, the health checks will be the same and the same type of questions will be asked. You can ask questions about any other health-related problems or worries you have.

There are four main stages of your Keep Well health check. All aspects of the health check are optional - and if at any point you feel uncomfortable or are unsure of a certain procedure, let the practitioner know.
1. At the beginning of the check, the nurse or healthcare practitioner will explain in full what is going to happen.
2. He or she will then ask you some general questions about your health, and then offer to check your:
- weight
- height
- blood pressure
- good and bad cholesterol
- blood sugar.
3. Following on from this you will be asked a few questions about your lifestyle - for example:
- how active you are
- what your diet is like
- whether you smoke
- your alcohol intake
- any money worries or other life stresses.
4. At the end of the check, the nurse or healthcare practitioner will discuss your results, and any support or treatments that you may wish to consider.
